"I am an orphan because I was adopted"

Maia said this apropos of nothing in particular last night, as we were getting ready for dinner.

"Who told you that?" I asked.

"Nobody," she said.

We watched "All Dogs Go to Heaven" last weekend, and saw Despicable Me the weekend before that. "We saved Cocoa from the Humane Society," Maia has also said on occasion.

I wonder how all of these things fit together in her head.
